Job Title: Project Coordinator - Community Theater Project
Duration: 6 months (Part-time), Starting January 2024
Location: Hybrid - Toronto
Stipend: Fixed Amount
Common Ground Community House, AL-Saha ( السّاحة ), is leading a Community Theater Project in partnership with Mixed Company Theater. The project aims to utilize theater as a powerful tool to initiate open discussions on challenging issues and topics experienced within the Arabic-speaking community, fostering dialogue and understanding.
Responsibilities
Recruitment Assistance: Support the recruitment process for Arabic-speaking youth interested in participating in the theater project. Assist in identifying and reaching out to potential participants.
Outreach: Act as a key point of contact for project outreach. Collaborate with community partners, local organizations, and stakeholders to promote the project and encourage community involvement.
Theater Partner Coordination: Serve as the focal point for our theater partner, Mixed Company Theater, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. Ensure seamless coordination between project activities and the theater partner's requirements.
Project Oversight: Monitor and oversee the progress of the Community Theater Project. Work closely with participants, facilitators, and other stakeholders to ensure the project's objectives are met.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of project activities, including participant profiles, project milestones, and any challenges faced. Assist in preparing regular progress reports.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in project coordination or community engagement is desirable.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
Passion for community development, the arts, and engaging with Arabic-speaking youth.
Previous theater or community theater experience is not a condition but preferred.
Duration and Stipend
This part-time position will last for 4-6 months. The role comes with a fixed stipend amount to support your commitment and dedication to the project.
